Eton Choral Course St John's Christopher Robinson

This week's blog

We're now into what is officially the final stretch before the new members of the ChoirChoristers, Choral Scholars and a new Organ Scholar – arrive in the autumn. Despite the fact that this year's Choir are still this year's Choir until then, the Japan Tour which they returned from a week ago was their last engagement of the academic year.

Having said that, the Gents are still keeping busy – over ten gigs still between now and September ranging from dinners in College to full-length concerts around the country and weddings in Chapel. A few of the Gents are out in Chinon, France at the moment singing in a music festival run by former Choral Scholar Tony Goodchild and more still are singing as part of the Edington Music Festival later this month.

This weekend, we were delighted to have singers from this year's fourth Eton Choral Course visit College. The course was based at Trinity College for the week and sang Evensong at Queens' College as well as visiting Gonville & Caius and giving a recital in Trinity Chapel, but certainly one of the highlights for the course was singing Evensong in St John's directed by Dr Christopher Robinson, former Director of Music.
