Rape of Lucretia, Titian

This week's blog

The Choir has fully installed itself back in College over the past week, starting with a recording for Chandos in Chapel. The recording was the seventh to be made for the Chandos label who have now been with us since 2009, and is a CD's worth of music by Wesley. Samuel Sebastian Wesley, grandson of the famous Lutheran preacher Charles Wesley, was hugely responsibly for the revitalisation of sacred choral music in Britain in the 19th century. The recording sessions were demanding but both our Chapel and our style of singing suits this music very well, as does our organ, so the finished product will hopefully justify our hard work. See our full list of recordings.
