Choir Book for the Queen

This week's blog

This week, despite the usual 'August lull', choral music is still in full swing all over the UK. Over in Armagh, Northern Ireland, the Charles Wood Summer School has begun, under the baton of Dr David Hill, former Director of Music at St John's; the sixth Eton Choral Course this year is currently taking place in Oxford; and three choirs formed from 60 or so singers are two days into the Edington Festival in Wiltshire which will broadcast Choral Evensong on BBC Radio 3 tomorrow. As well as musicians from all around the country, we are pleased that six former Choral Scholars and 2 former Choristers are taking part and we look forward to hearing a new commission in tomorrow's service by Ed Rex and a Nunc Dimittis setting by Matthew Martin, who composed a new set of canticles for us earlier in the year.
