Tallis T - In ieiunio et fletu

Thomas Tallis (c.1505-1585)

In ieiunio et fletu orabant sacerdotes:
Parce, Domine, parce
populo tuo; et ne des haereditatem
tuam in perditionem.
Inter vestibulum et altare plorabant
sacerdotes, dicentes:
Parce populo tuo.

Words Joel 2 vv. 12, 17

In fasting and weeping the priests prayed:
Spare, Lord, spare
thy people and give not thine heritage
over to perdition.
Between the porch and the altar
the priests lamented, saying: Spare thy people.
