Each year a service is held in Easter Term to commemorate the benefactors of St John’s College.
The Catalogue of Benefactors, which is read out during the service, features some notable figures - St John Fisher, William Gaskell (an 'opium agent'), Thomas Baker (an 'ejected Fellow’), and the College foundress, Lady Margaret Beaufort, mother of King Henry VII.
