Francis Jackson, whose setting of the canticles is heard on this webcast, celebrated his 100th birthday in October 2017. He was appointed organist and director of music at York Minster in 1946 and held these positions until his retirement in 1982, but has continued to sustain his creative output ever since.

Sing, my soul, His wondrous love is a work by the Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer and author Ned Rorem, described by Time Magazine as "the world's best composer of art songs".
