This service includes music by Giovanni Perluigi da Palestrina (1525-1594) and Jonathan Dove (1959 - ).

Jonathan Dove's Missa Brevis  was commissioned in May 2009 by the Cathedral Organists’ Association for their conference in Wells Cathedral. It was first performed by the cathedral choir under the direction of Matthew Owens. It has become an immensely popular work due to its challenging yet accessible writing.
