Advent Carol Service 2017

Recorded on
Sunday, 26 November 2017

Each year, the Advent Carol Service is broadcast live on BBC Radio  3 from St John's. This webcast is our own recording of the same service.

The service includes a selection of readings, prayers and music for the season of Advent.

The Advent Carol Service traditionally features a premiere of a new work commissioned by the Master and Fellows of the College. This year, Ben Comeau's setting of St. John Baptist ('The Last and Greatest Herald') by 17th century Scottish poet William Drummond joined two previous St. John's Advent commisions: Giles Swayne's Adam lay ybounden and Ian Shaw's I sing of a maiden.
