Sunday 23 January 2022 - Epiphany Carol Service

Recorded on
Sunday, 23 January 2022

The choir celebrates the season of Epiphany with a candlelit service of readings, carols and hymns that tell of the coming of Christ, the Magi's visit, and the presentation in the Temple. Due to COVID-19 the choir were unable to convene for this service in 2021 but are now able to be together in Chapel again with a congregation.

The music includes three pieces in which the choir were accompanied by an instrumentalist: harpist Elizabeth Bass played for Errolyn Wallen's 'Peace on Earth' and Britten's 'There is no Rose', and flautist Anna Ryan played with the choir for Abbie Betinis' 'Cedit, Hyems'. The music in the service spans a wide range of genres and musical styles, from Spanish 'Vilancico' to contemporary compositions.
