In this service the choir sings the first part of an anthem by Christopher Tye, a 16th century composer from Cambridgeshire. Tye was famous for his role as music tutor to King Edward VI. He composed a number of choral works and was the director of music at Ely Cathedral.
The contribution of Andrew Nethsingha and St John's College, Cambridge to the Evensong tradition - both in the chapel and on record - deserves great praise
